The Storyso far…
In December of 2009, after 4 and a half years as a student at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, I graduated with a B.S. in Fine Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
I took a number of fine arts classes, including sculpture, printmaking, and life drawing, but I focused primarily on print design. I’ve always taken an interest in current and upcoming technologies and during my final year of studies, I first considered web design and development as a possible career path.
With my shiny new degree, I packed my bags and left Kentucky for a job in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with Digital River as an in-house web designer and front end developer. With this company I was fortunate enough to work with a few big name clients, including Intuit and TurboTax. At this time I also cut my teeth in the freelancing world with a few jobs on the side.
After a year and a half in Pittsburgh, I headed back south to Nashville, Tennessee after being offered an opportunity to work at iDesign, Inc., a small full service creative/web firm. Over the last year, I’ve since settled into my role as a developer, focusing on front end languages, including HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript.
In June 2012, I started Bartagnan, a small creative studio. With this venture, I hope to bring together my skills as a creative and technical web desinger to create unique user experiences for my clients.
